MMP is a professional video production, web media and photography company
created by Richard Marks, MA. He has been a professional photographer since 1971.
In 1981 he blended his passion for photography with broadcast video production.
His photographs have been in newspapers and magazines in the San Francisco Bay Area since his arrival there in 1976 and are now distributed world wide via Getty Images.
In 1981, Richard founded his own video and photography production company, Electric
Eye Productions, in the San Francisco Bay area. He produced visual media for local TV broadcast, including music videos, interviews and training and educational videos. His media was produced in a variety of settings according to the needs and requirements
of the production. At times he directed a crew of up to twenty in a four camera TV studio. On other occasions he shot in the field with a smaller production crew and
three camera TV truck. He also worked with a small crew with just a single high resolution camera, shooting in a more intimate documentary style. The TV
studio also doubled as a photography studio, where Richard combined
his photography and video skills along with his musical composition talent to
enhance and the scope and depth of his productions.
In 1992, Richard was invited to collaborate on shooting a high end wedding with a
dear friend and world class Getty Images photographer, Trinette Reed. Photographing
this wedding with Trinette was such a wonderful experience that Richard decided
to add wedding photography to his creative repertoire, richardmarksphoto.com,
and his newly launched website alohaia.com, as he loves bringing his visual artistry to ceremonies that are centered around celebrating Love.
From 1987 to 1999 Richard studied depth and sacred psychology,
Reichian Work, Enneagram Studies at the Ridhwan School in Berkeley.
His 12 years of study at the Ridhwan School are the equivalent of a Doctoral Degree
in Depth and Object Relations Psychology.
In 1992 began studies at Sonoma State University. in 1994 Richard earned a MFT
Master's degree with a minor in Art Therapy from the Sonoma State University
Counseling Program . He has discovered that the valuable skills he developed in
his advanced studies most definitely deepen and enrich his work with the clients
that he now serves via his photography and video productions.
Richard moved to Maui in 2001 magnetized by his great love of the ocean and
the irresistible magnetism and beauty of Maui and the Hawaiian culture. Upon
his arrival, he immediately found it an absolute necessity to purchase underwater housings for his video and still cameras. Along with his wife Mayumi, he dove into
the ocean with his passion for capturing beautiful imagery in Maui's amazing
underwater world which gave birth to dolphinmana.com. Above water, he
has also been delighted to continue to explore his passion for wedding photography,
stock photography for Getty Images and Blend Images, producing DVD's, some of which are
marketed online and also have been aired on TV.
Richard is deeply committed to producing media that uplifts and celebrates the
great beauty of humanity and of all creation, whether it be a blue eyed
poet pouring the salty passion of his ruby heart out against a thundering ocean~~~
or a pod of 100 spinner dolphins leaping 6 feet in the air and chattering
and swimming wildly in circles around his camera, making him explode into fits of laughter~~~ or an elder sharing the wondrous stories and adventures of her
life on DVD to leave behind as an inheritance gift for her future grandchildren t
hat she may never set her eyes upon~~~or photographing a bride and groom getting married at sunset or even videotaping them swimming underwater to meet
each other and receive a sweet long awaited wedding day kiss...or an author
making her very best presentation on DVD to send to Chicago so she can
present her new book on Oprah's TV Show.
